Our Story
Our neighborhood has been classified as a food desert for over a decade. The nearest grocery store is 4 miles away, and many residents rely on convenience stores and fast food for their daily meals.
We want to change that. The Community Garden Project will transform a 1-acre abandoned lot in the heart of our neighborhood into a thriving urban farm and community gathering space.
The garden will feature: - 50 raised beds for community members to grow their own food - A greenhouse for year-round growing - A composting station - A community kitchen for cooking classes - A children's education area - Seating and gathering spaces
